About the Artist
John S. Coles lives in Arlington, Massachusetts but has practiced his craft nationally, from Florida to Maine, California to Washington D.C. He is a classically trained painter, having studied art in Florence, Italy. Through the years he has had many diverse projects: privately commissioned paintings, large commercial murals and decorative finishes. Most recently, he has entered the world of architectural conservation and metal leafing. Some of his clients include Boston College, Harvard College, This Old House and New Yankee Workshop television programs, The Carlyle Hotel, the Bunker Hill Museum and the Town of Reading, Massachusetts. He has been featured in the Boston Globe and Elle Decor, Northwest Life, Colonial Homes and Home and Garden magazines.
